Though the extraocular muscles are found within the orbit of the eye they are not located in. It is a strong layer made of collagen fibers. At the front of the eyeball the choroid connects with the ciliary body. The protrusion of the eyeballsproptosisin exophthalmic goitre is caused by the collection of fluid in the orbital fatty tissue.
