If myosin molecules are unable to bind to other myosin molecules this prevents muscle contraction. Myosin moves if attached doesnt move. It is the shortening of these individual sarcomeres that lead to the contraction of individual skeletal muscle fibers and ultimately the whole muscle. The sarcomere is the fundamental unit of muscle structure.
